Smith & Susson, LLP has had its roots
in Orange County since 1974 when Scott Smith commenced practice in
Santa Ana with a civil litigation firm. Mark Susson joined the Firm
in 1979. Scott Smith and Mark Susson practiced together with the
Firm for 19 years before forming Smith & Susson, LLP with Linda
Burden in 1998. In 2002, the firm relocated to Newport Beach.Both

The Orange County Chapter of
the American Board of Trial Advocates
recently presented a
Masters in Trial mock trial program for approximately 300
attorneys in Newport Beach. As one of the participants, Mr.
Smith cross-examined a bio-mechanical expert in an
automobile case producing quadriplegia. Mr. Smith had also
served as counsel in the original case which served as the
basis for this mock trial demonstration. |

Judge
George Francis Civility Award
The Orange County Chapter of The American Board of Trial
Advocates presented its Judge George Francis Civility Award
to Mr. Smith at its Annual Judges Dinner.The Award is given to
a member of the Orange County Chapter whose "Exemplary
Integrity, Civility and Professionalism Inspire Trust Among
Counsel and Promote Civility and Respect within and for the
Profession".
The American Board of
Trial Advocates (ABOTA) is an invitation-only, nationwide
organization of trial lawyers devoted to the preservation of
our right to a jury trial guaranteed by the Seventh
Amendment of the United States Constitution. It is composed
of both plaintiff and defense trial lawyers throughout the
United States.
